Due to her various roles, Chyna is remembered more nostalgically as a WWE babyface than a heel. Baby Face Push helped China make history as the first woman to consistently defeat male wrestlers and become a true breakout star.

Most of Chyna’s heel tenure was previously held as a manager and executor of Triple H. Although Chyna provided a threatening factor to become a strong heel, the chapter felt like a footnote compared to her legendary facerun.

The language barrier was a little different from most top female stars in WWE, as they spoke of Asuka’s presentations as being less than the average champion. Anuka’s personality was the best shining as a beloved face character who kicked the butt in the ring and was amused as a character.

The heels running in WWE weren’t as reliable as Asuka, but the overall entertainment factor was a hit. Asuka has moved into tag team roles during various heel runs.

Rita spent most of her career in the role of Babyface as a heroic character for fans of the Attitude Era. WWE connected to the Hardy Boys and Rita team Xtreme to become one of the most beloved faced characters in the fandom’s popular era.

Rita’s turn came in the mid-2000s due to her real-life scandal of cheating on Matt Hardy with an edge-reaching fan. Rita did a good job as part of the act of the top heel couple, but it lasted more than a year as she left her out of the misfortunes of the role that negatively affects her life.

Bailey has one of the unexpected heel success stories, due to how much fans enjoyed her original face character. NXT and the early main roster year portrayed Bailey as the ultimate babyface to take over her.

After Bailey’s momentum, which had hurt a few years of poor creative wounds, things finally flare up. The heel turn led to more success, and the governance of her most respected title came as the dominant villain. Bailey flourished as a face, but she proved that she could also be the heel on top.

WWE fans still talk about AJ Lee as a respected person who managed to get along with most of the storyline and character roles given her. AJ did an incredible job of adapting to dramatic changes. The heel character came after a love story involving commercial Punk, Daniel Brian and Kane.

Lee achieved success in the role of an authoritative figure, and ultimately reached new heights as a heel dating Ilf Ziggler. The governance of the Diva Championship during this period was the highest point in AJ’s career defending the title against all face challengers for almost a year.

Becky Lynch’s biggest success and biggest moments saw the “man” play a face role in making her a huge star. Fans gathered behind Becky on her early main roster day for the pure babyface character and embraced her edge-like side in a program with Charlotte Flair.

The success of the face made turning Lynch’s heels a risky move after fans have already refused to boo her. However, WWE found success in Becky’s post-pregnancy heel character in a big feud against Bianca Belair. The recent heel turn of her 2025 comeback gives Lynch the opportunity to add to her heel legacy.

WWE called out Sasha Banks after running perhaps the greatest female run in NXT history as a ridiculous heel character. Banks completed the “boss” character as a heel and played the perfect villain against a pure babyface like Bailey.

The main roster run was characterized by Sasha moving back and forth between her face and heel roles. The bank felt much more natural as a heel and definitely did her best job. AEW’s current tenure as Mercedes Mohn has further proven she is doing better as a heel than as a face.

Nikki Bella has set the record for having the longest diva championship rule in history as a heel. Fans have never supported Nikki as easily as the other top faces, so it made sense to betray her twin sister Brie and get a full-fledged heel.

A strong feud against Aji Lee saw Nikki tricking her beloved face from the title to begin her own dominant reign. Nikki rubbed fans the wrong way by playing the perfect rog haughty character who was fooled to make history.

One of the most underrated things about Trish Stratus’ legendary career was how she fits into every role she was given to her. Stratus initially got over as a manager and a ridiculous heel character, and loved his interest before moving completely into the competition in the ring.

Her heels turned in 2004 and formed a romantic partnership with Christian, making her perhaps her best run as the dominant women’s champion. Trish’s recent comeback run against Becky Lynch was characterized by a more incredible heel work that demanded fans and talent “thank her” for her contributions as a living legend.

Charlotte Flair has a unique scenario of someone who can claim to be the best of all time, despite not having a good babyface. Most of Charlotte’s face runs featured fans organically heading towards her, from the first main roster push up to the recent 2025 return in 2015.

The difficulty of an elite athlete was always pushed to win, making her more approachable. Flair makes up for it by using the same context to become the best heel ever. Charlotte rules most feuds and easily gets hot by rubbing her greatness on the faces of her fans and enemies.
