Taz shared several words during “Aew Dyamite: Beach Break” in homage to the late wrestler of his friend Terrence “Sabu” Brunk.
Sub passed away last weekend at the age of 60, spurring many experts and fans in the wrestling industry, sharing stories and tributes to the hardcore legend. One of them was a former championship-winning partner for Sub and a celebrity rival of ECW’s Taz, and was intertwined with their careers to ensure that the AEW announcer was mentioned in Monday’s tribute on “WWE Raw.”
Wednesday’s “Dynamite” paid tribute to Sub from AEW, starting with a few words from Excalibur, before Taz spoke about the man he knows as a friend and as a colleague.
“He was a machine, his work ethic was off the charts, his presence was always amazing, when his energy took him, when I took him, he brought the best from me. “I miss your brother.”

Sub did not take the match within AEW, but made a one-off appearance in Double or Notin Notinning 2023 as special guest enforcer for the match between Chris Jericho and Adam Cole. He took part in the match, swapping Jericho’s shots of chairs before repelling Jas from ringside and delivering a splash to put Matt Menard on the table.
