This week, Zach Gowen marked the ring’s return to domestic television in a match against Ricochet on “Aew Dynamite.” While he ultimately led to a defeat, Gowen said, “Thank you. [AEW] To be welcoming and very kind to your locker room. thank you [Tony Khan] Meanwhile, X. I fired a farewell shot at Gowen in Ricochet, giving me the opportunity to live my dreams once more.
“Please send me a hospital bill. I’m Gotchichu,” Ricochet wrote in response.

In the “Dynamite” match, Gowen grabbed early control by kicking Ricochet running through the ropes, then leapt outward to put him down. The former WWE star then enlarged the turnbuckle and searched for a one-legged moonsaw. However, Ricochet discovers it and dodges it before ending Gowen with a spirit gun for victory. Ricochet then followed with a second spirit gun and punt to Gowen’s head. Luckily for Gowen, former ROH world champion Mark Briscoe has come down to the ring to save him from further damage.
In his childhood, Gowen had an amputation of his left leg. Still, he pursued his dream of wrestling, and in the process became the first one-legged competitor to compete under the WWE banner. Gowen’s run at WWE was short, but it was noteworthy as he faced many others with Brock Lesnar, Shannon Moore and former WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Following his exit from the company in 2004, Gowen continued to perform on the independent wrestling circuit and on the Ring of Honor and TNA wrestling.
