Many wrestling fandoms have mixed feelings about celebrities like Logan Paul, Pat McAfee, or Bad Bunny who is taking part in wrestling. McAfee especially had a long showdown with former world heavyweight champion Gunther in the backlash, and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was excited by how it went.
“Guncer/Pat, first of all, my hat is headed towards Gunther for what he’s doing,” Levesque said after the repulsion. “When it comes to Pat McAfee, Pat just makes it difficult for me to put into words how big he is, but he is Pat McAfee. That’s one of the things that marvel at him since I met him…
Levesque stated that McAfee’s combination of star power and athleticism is “the next level,” and how humble McAfee is in football, wrestling, broadcasting and more.
“WWE has certain people that are geared towards what we’re doing. It’s very hard to imagine them not here, Pat is one of those people,” Levesque said. “We are extremely proud of him and we were honored that he chose to be with WWE because he doesn’t have to.”
Levesque was focused on how well McAfee did, but he was also asked about the influx of celebrities into the WWE, but he doesn’t feel that former WWE US champion Logan Paul belongs to that category.
“You can name a lot of people, I won’t put Logan in [Paul] With that group. I don’t think Logan is this outside celebrity, “Levesque said.”[He] He was a celebrity walking through the door, [he] He tells it in a way like a full-time performer… I don’t see him in that celebrity’s pulse. ”
