New details have emerged about the company’s plans to expand in the region after WWE acquired Mexico-based promotional AAA and was announced at WrestleMania 41. According to a recent report from Wrestlevotes, WWE is holding multiple live events in Mexico “in the near future.”
These live events reportedly center around major high-profile attractions known as the “Supershow Mexico” event. The specific dates and locations for this “super show” and accompanying tours are still fixed, but the plans show a push to the Mexican market.
This development is noteworthy given WWE’s recent strategy to reduce the total number of live events in the country, as TKO executives will continue to “prunt” their tour schedules. These New Mexicos show targeted international expansion.
The move is based on existing crossover opportunities, including Angel Garza & Hambert Carrillo and several TNA wrestling champions (including Joe Hendry) to be announced at AAA’s Triple Mania Regia on June 15th.
