Jeff Cobb WWE Name Changes Major Update

A major Jeff Cobb update has appeared following Jeff Cobb’s WWE debut last weekend with Backlash.

When he made his debut, commentators called him Jeff Cobb, but after the later shows he was specifically said to be known as Jeff Cobb, but it was unclear what his name was going on.

Earlier this week, WWE applied for the JC Mateo trademark.

There is some great evidence in that direction coming out of tonight’s May 16th episode of SmackDown.

In the opening segment, Solosicore, American champions Jacob Fatu and Jeffcob all made the entrance and headed for the ring.

In the backlash, Cobb was brought to Cicor to attack Lanaite to help Fatu maintain the United States Championship, but Fatu did not appreciate the help.

Tonight, Sikoa officially introduced Cobb as “JC.” He was also repeatedly referred to as “JC” by commentary.

The last name Mateo was not used tonight, but it was very clear that he was “JC” rather than Jeff Cobb.

The segments in the ring featured more debate between Fatu and Shikoa, with Shikoa ocking Fatu’s catchphrase.

Finally, Lanite appeared from behind and temporarily attacked the “JC” before running.
