WWE may already be ruined when bank money is cashed

WWE Head to Inglewood, California on June 7th to take over the Intuition Dome for the 2025 Bank Premium Live Event. Every year, fans look forward to not only who gets money in the bank briefcase, but also when they get cash. This concept may have been exhausted over the years, but it still produces many surprises and star-making moments. As for the money for men on bank contracts, WWE may already have their cats out of their bags in terms of when and where cash-in this year will take place.

WWE announces world title match after money at the bank

Raw after bank money features big matchups

  • Jay Uso defends the World Heavyweight Championship.
  • Gunther receives his title rematch.
  • Matches that are not played on Raw and not played on PLE are prizes.

On the episode of Raw on Monday night, May 12th, former world heavyweight champion Gunther stepped up to the plate to challenge the man who defeated him with Wrestlemania 41, the current world heavyweight champion Jey Uso. Behind the dominant performance against Pat McCuffy in the 2025 Backlash, Gunther stated his intention to regain the money and challenged the winner of Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul at Saturday Night’s Main Event Show on May 24th.

The match was officially set, but it makes sense that the world title will be featured in PLE, especially as USO was snabbed from the backlash card, but not for future money in Bank 2025 PLE. Instead, the World Heavyweight Title Match became the official episode of Monday Night Raw After Money in the Bank, which will be held in Phoenix, Arizona on June 9th at PHX Arena. It was an interesting decision for WWE to play the match rather than PLE, but there may actually be a very good reason for this booking call.

Gunther Vs. Jey Uso is in a loss situation

There is no good booking choice for winners

  • Gunther will lose for the second time.
  • Jey Uso lost the title straight to Gunther.
  • WWE was brought back to the corner in this rivalry.

When Gunther and Jay Uso book a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, WWE face a loss situation. On the one hand, passing on yet another defeat to Jay Uso to Gunther would be extremely damaging to his overall presentation. Gunther has been one of WWE’s most unstoppable wrestlers in the past few years, and has only lost to Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso since the main roster called up in 2022. It was bad enough to be a decisive defeat to USO in Wrestlemania 41, but doing it twice could result in irreparable wounds to his aura as the dominant wrestler.

Meanwhile, Jey Uso loses the title straight to Gunther, making his title rule pointless, and his Wrestlemania victory seem nothing more than a fluke. Losing to someone else would be better than just a title that goes back to Gunther. Because of these two scenarios, WWE creatively surrendered itself to the corner…or maybe it seems. Announcement of their title match date and time may predict a finish that protects both men – bank money will win cash.

Bank money is the only logical direction

WWE may already be giving surprises

  • Once WWE returns to the corner, cash-in can save them.
  • There is no other reason why Title Match won’t take part in the PLE.
  • Is WWE really predictable with their bookings?

Last year, WWE held money at the bank cash in on PLE night. To avoid doing this for the second year in a row, by choosing the night after the show, we guarantee that WWE cannot make immediate, predictable and fast cash in the exact way it did the previous year. Schedule a match at night is just a red herring and you can throw away the fans. Or you can book something very obvious in the hope that fans won’t notice or pick up any potential plans.

Someone comes and suspends the match, pins Jay Lies, protects both wrestlers by stealing the World Heavyweight Championship, allowing WWE to retreat themselves from the corner from a creative perspective. If cash-in wasn’t planned, it makes little sense that the match isn’t in the PLE itself, especially since Jey Uso hasn’t wrestled in PLE yet since becoming champion. It may be predictable, but it makes sense now.
