Cody Rhodes It is expected that his WrestleMania 41 will return to WWE soon after weeks of silence after being defeated by John Cena. The first reign of “American Nightmare” when the WWE Champion ended with a whisper as the WWE Champion won the 17th world title.
Since then, it has become clear how valuable Cody Rhodes is in the modern version of WWE. His successor has been unable to meet his early promises after turning his heels for the first time, but Jay Uso continues to feel like a lightweight champion in Raw. It is clear that Cody has become an integral part of the main event scene and that his return should be celebrated.
Cody Rhodes left the main event invalid
John Cena and Jay Uso were overwhelming world champions
- The absence of Cody Rhodes has been felt throughout WWE programming since the event of WrestleMania 41.
- John Cena and Jay Uso were disappointed as world champions after winning the belt.
- Cena, in particular, was unable to make his heel turn work, but that was a disappointment.
There’s been something wrong with WWE’s main event scene since WrestleMania 41 as Jey Uso and John Cena are about to lead the company with Raw and Smackdown respectively. Seth Rollins has also been brought back to top heel levels alongside new peers from Bron Blakeker and Paul Heyman.
Otherwise, there was a sense of WWE doing creative comedy down on its top story after two years of great success. This could be attributed to some degree to the usual Postrest Tourmania dip, but it has no relation to the company’s current top champion.
Jay Uso feels like a temporary figure above the World Championships division. His title reign does not appear to last after the summer. For now, WWE can escape by promoting him as a top star. Because USO is still very much done with the crowd despite the contradictions in his ring.
The real problem lies with John Cena. John Cena’s record-breaking 17th world rule continues to struggle under the weight of expectations. The heel turn in the elimination chamber was so moving that Cena could become a WWE champion was once again fascinating, but the character’s work and even worse in-ring performance attenuated “Big Match John’s Retirement Ran.”
Cody Rhodes was a great WWE champion
WWE may not have appreciated what they had in American nightmares
- Cody Rhodes performed very well, similar to the WWE champions from the WrestleMania 40 to the WrestleMania 41.
- He had to follow in the footsteps of Roman rule, but he did it as a champion of another kind.
- Cody will once again become the WWE World Champion at some point.
The current main event problem WWE is experiencing is Cody Rhodes’s fault, like anyone else, because they set the bars so high for what the world champions should be. As the Roman rulers did before him, Cody embodied the company’s focus for over a year, and the pursuit of the “tribal chief” has returned even further than that.
It’s hard for anyone to follow Rhodes as the WWE champion, but John Cena’s latest attempt at doing so has been awfully disappointing so far. Cody actually looks weak at WrestleMania 41, as he is a long-time unflapping figure in WWE, competing for one of the worst main events in the show’s history.
The former AEW star had to produce gold from terrible materials before, but it’s really hard to predict how he and WWE will reestablish him as a legitimate top guy in the company. John Cena’s insultingly general Heal’s title reign may continue without Rhodes’ involvement. This may be best for “American nightmares” in the long run.
What’s next for Cody Rhodes?
It would be good for him to leave the world
- Cody Rhodes could turn his heels while running in WWE, suggesting heels have been teased in the past.
- This result is less likely, as the fact that Cody ignored the rock led to John Sheena’s heel turn.
- WWE needs to book Rhodes with a non-title feud to regain his momentum over the next year.
Many speculate that the natural next step Cody Rhodes takes is to change the heels as a way to kickstart a new chapter in his career. This feels less likely than ever, given that things like John Cena and Seth Rollins have just begun WrestleMania and Cody openly rebelled against the rocks to tie the rest of the loose ends.
Instead, WWE should focus on building Cody Rhodes again at the level of the World Championship challenge. Given his track record, it shouldn’t be that difficult. Triple H can choose to return him immediately after Cena, but Rhodes will benefit from being frothed completely away from that storyline to avoid doing more damage to his character. Luckily, Cody has an excellent track record of feuds becoming important outside of world title photos. Even in his latest WWE run, “American Nightmare” had memorable feuds against Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and Judgment Day.
There are many performers on the WWE roster who have not yet involved Cody Rhodes with a certain level of ability. This is exciting to explore while Triple H reserves one of the top stars. WrestleMania 41 was by no means his best night, but Cody has proven multiple times that he can put up hard work to get back to the top.
