AEW is one step closer to bringing former TNT champion Derby Allin back to the top of the world.
According to online logs of Allin climbing Mount Everest, Allin and his team arrived at the summit earlier today. Allin, the only climber on the crew, has been climbing the mountains since April. Now that we have arrived at the summit, the group turns around and begins to climb the mountain. The former World Tag Team Champion was initially supposed to return in time for the Owen Hart Cup, but due to delays in preparation for the climb, he didn’t take part in the tournament, further postponing the conclusion to the ongoing storyline with AEW World Champion John Moxley. It is not yet clear when Allin will return to AEW, and it is not known whether the climb will have a negative effect on his health or his ring reading.
Allin was not involved in AEW programming all year round, but it last appeared at the end of December. He began flying the stairs by a fellow Death Rider John Moxley and wrote Allyn from the TV for the climb. With Allin removed from the Owen Hart Cup, Will Osprey and Hangman Page arrive in the final and fight for the Cup at the upcoming Double or Notin event, which will take place in Glendale, Arizona on May 25th. The winner will face John Moxley on July 12th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
