Matt Hardy is happy to see this match made as a result of WWE Backlash 2025

John Cena came to the backlash between Randy Orton and WWE as his opponent, but he met another person already in line – that’s R-truth. Truth and Cena were particularly fighting in 2011 with WWE Capitol’s punishment, but more recently, Truth has promoted the 17-time world champion as his “childhood hero.” Currently they are set to face off again in the main event on WWE Saturday night on May 24th.

“It’s going to be interesting,” Hardy said in “Matt Hardy’s Extreme Life.” “I had no chance to see it [Backlash] Still a pay-per-view. I’d like to go back and see some of it, but I saw someone reporting that I thought John seemed contradictory about being a bad guy, and maybe turned into a bad guy.

“The fact that he’s doing it on R-Truth is very interesting,” Hardy continued. “I’m so happy when the truth goes there we get the opportunity to play that match. If people are hooked on it and they still want to watch these matches, they still want to buy tickets to go to these matches.

In an indisputable WWE Championship match with Orton in China, the truth tried to help the defending champion. After Cena’s victory over Orton, the truth began to congratulate Cena at a post-show press conference, reminding him of the criticisms he’s been elicited since turning his heels in March. To the trouble of the latter statement, Cena sent the truth that crashed the table, courtesy of attitude adjustment. A few days later, WWE confirmed that the truth will meet his longtime “hero” in the ring of SNME.
