The behind-the-scenes roles that the previous WWE and TNA Wrestling names play now have been confirmed.

Josh Matthews left TNA Wrestling in February 2025, serving as commentator, senior producer and senior director of digital media.

Matthews, who was recently seen behind the scenes at AEW, was confirmed to have signed with the company in May.

His actual role is now revealed, with Matthews confirming that he is working on the AEW production side of the business.

In a recent behind-the-scenes conversation with Maven Huffman, Mathews said he is shadowing Mike Mansuri.

“Now I’m shadowing Mike Mansery. So I’m going to play the Ring of Honor match before. Then I’m going to sit down and watch the clash. And then I’m going to play the Ring of Honor match after that.”

Mansuri is AEW Executive Vice President and Head of Global Production, and previously served as Vice President of WWE Television Productions.

The former WWE executive resigned from the company in 2020 and was hired by AEW in December 2022.

Mathews were no strangers to WWE either, and were runner-ups for Maven and Nidia in the first season of Tough in 2001.

He served as a behind-the-scenes interviewer for WWE and went on to a few matches before moving on to commentary roles until it was released in June 2014.
