For the past five years, WWE’s Bianca Belair has risen from a promising developmental talent to one of the industry’s most popular stars. The wrestler recently appeared in “What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon” and highlighted some of Belair’s achievements, McMahon asked Belair to share his thoughts on the representation of wrestling.
“That’s very important. I’m always using quotes. “Expression is not a request, it’s a requirement,” Bella said.
Belair believes it is important for young men and women to see who are successful on the platforms like the ones that WWE offers. The wrestler also praised the performer who came before her and broke the barrier.
In 2021, Bel Air and Sasha Banks became the first two black women in main event Wrestle Mania when they faced each other for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. That moment meant a lot to Bella, especially considering the end of her first year on the main roster and the fact that she had won the world title.
“[Banks] I’ve taken it [such] I’m so new, so I took great care of me in that match. “Bera continued.
The match makes Bella so emotional she was allowed herself to go back and watch it several times. Even before the match took place, she and the bank felt the weight of what they had achieved.
“I didn’t know if it was the main event or not,” Bella said. “We found the same amount of time as everyone on the internet. We both remember that it was broken.”
Belair has been involved in all WrestleMania since his main roster debut, but this is the second time he has had a main event. Meanwhile, the bank has left WWE and is now performing as Mercedes Mones in AEW, NJPW and many other promotions.
