Lyra Valkyria discussed her experiences as a WWE woman’s experience becoming an intercontinental champion, revealing that she only learned major career moments on the day of the show, rather than part of a creative discussion in advance.
Valkyria won her first WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship by beating Dakotaka Kai in the tournament final on the Raw episode of January 13, 2025. This made her the first woman ever.
Speaking about her insights with Chris Van Vriette, Valkyria shared her feelings about holding the championship. “[It’s brought me] I have confidence, it’s a huge responsibility and there’s a lot of pressure that comes with it,” she said.
When asked when she first heard about winning the title, she explained: “I wasn’t part of that conversation. I found what I was doing on Monday. I found that day. I wasn’t part of the decision or conversation.
Explaining her reaction, Valkyria said, “Amazing. I couldn’t believe it… it wouldn’t attack me at that moment, it hit me while I was home.
