Aew’s Will Ospreay opens up about autism and the difficulties dealing with ADHD diagnosis

Aew Star Will Ospreay has been open in recent years about receiving autism spectrum and ADHD diagnosis, with wrestlers acknowledging their promotional experience. In an interview with Josh Martinez, Osprey revealed that he was grateful for being diagnosed that explained many of his childhood experiences, but the timing may have been better.

“It was like weight off my shoulders, but not the weight I didn’t want to lift while passing in Japan,” Ospreay said. “It was tough, but it was one of those things that I had moments of retribution and understanding, and whenever I was over-stimulated I could know what my trigger was and I was able to try and find a way to counterbalance it.”

Ospreay learned about his ADHD and autism at the age of 27, but he wasn’t excited when some of the people nearby weren’t surprised by the news. However, despite some difficulties along the way, the AEW star uses his experience to help young people dealing with some of the same problems.

“Sometimes I like to keep my head down about it because I don’t want to be in front of and centered on these situations, so I feel it’s so cool, but I’m coming with a young boy trying to live their dreams a little.

Ospreay is currently preparing to face “Hangman” Adam Page in the final of the 2025 Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing. Before that, the two wrestlers will be face-to-face during tonight’s “AEW Dynamate” segment.
