Green’s return to WWE has seen her prove that all the doubts and detractors in the industry are wrong. She took advantage of every opportunity the company gave her and gave it 100%. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vriette, she spoke about the triple H phone and asked if she wanted to go back to WWE. She said:
Green’s natural talent allowed her to thrive in WWE. Despite her heels, she has become a fan favorite that people wanted to succeed. Her achievements made her do well. She is a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. She was the first WWE Women’s US champion and got her own faction. All of this happened because of how wonderful she was. However, multiple times with her booking, it felt like WWE had stifled their full commitment to making Green a main event-level star.
Matt Cardona’s WWE run wasted

Green’s run can be compared to her other important Matt Cardona runs. Formerly known as Zack Ryder, he was one of the first major examples of superstars who used their online presence to influence what was happening with him in WWE. Around 2011, it was almost impossible not to listen to Zack Rider’s chant. In the end, WWE couldn’t ignore them.
Cardona ultimately won the WWE US title and it felt like the fans were being asked. But he quickly became an afterthought to the storyline, where he should have been a top player. He eventually lost the championship and took a pinfall at WrestleMania 28, lowering his card status. In WWE, there was no real chance to shine as fans demanded. After a long-standing lower card, he was released in 2020.

With Green losing the WWE Women’s US Championship to Zelina Vega, it felt like WWE was preparing to give her a big push. It appears to have been a stepping stone to Smackdown’s more prominent storyline. After all, who doesn’t want to see Green’s feud with Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship? It’s a new and fresh story for both of them. However, it appears that WWE is moving in another direction.
Recently, Green lost money in a bank qualifier match for SmackDown after being locked into a triple threat that includes a sewing machine and Alexa Bliss. Fans are excited to see Bliss return to swinging things, but shouldn’t have come at Green’s expense, especially after she just ran as WWE Women’s US champion. The last thing she needs is to withstand the loss after the loss.
This doesn’t mean that Chelsea Green’s career is struggling in any way in WWE. She does a great job at the company and is loved by many fans. Her character work is at the point, and she can do amazing things in the ring. This is featured not only in WWE, but also in other companies such as TNA, NWA, GCW, and indie. She is an incredible talent and someone who brings people together behind her. Fans want Green to succeed, and it’s not too late for WWE to give him a more remarkable opportunity on the card.
