Dave Meltzer discusses the issue of Streaming Platform Triller

2 Min Read

For years, Triller TV (formerly known as Fite TV) has served as one of the most accessible platforms for purchasing and streaming pay-per-views for wrestling. There are currently several concerning reports about the company’s business outlook. Speaking about “Wrestling Observer Radio” this morning, Dave Meltzer provided a platform update following news that AEW Double or Nothing this weekend will be the first edition of a PPV that cannot be purchased on Triller in North America.

“Triller is in a really bad financial position,” Meltzer said. “They didn’t file a 10-Q. They’re on the verge of delisting. They have less than one share in stock. So they’re in trouble and need to buy it now.”

After several years of attempts, Triller TV’s parent company (known simply as Triller) was released in 2024. A year has passed and is now at risk of leaving the market. 10-Q filing is a document that public companies must file each quarter with the SEC, and the fact that Triller missed the deadline is not a good indication.

Meltzer wasn’t exactly sure how Triller’s current situation was tied to twice as much availability or nothing, but noted that wrestling promotion has not decided to cut ties with the platform completely, as PPVs are still available for purchase elsewhere. Additionally, Meltzer is under the impression that some wrestling promotions are hesitant to work with Triller because of fear that they won’t be paid if the company is given.

Regarding doubles or notes, Meltzer pointed out that Fubo is carrying PPVs in North America. The show will also be available at all typical outlets such as Amazon Prime Video, and fans will be able to watch the show in a selection of Dave & Buster’s Locations.
