This weekend, Saturday night’s main event, R-truth After the indisputable WWE champion puts the truth through the table at a post-backlash press conference, he faces his childhood hero, John Cena. R-Truth’s love for Cena may ultimately bring the champion back from Dark Side, but leaving the wrestling storyline, John Cena was upset by what R-Truth said about WWE while at TNA. The face of the company called him when the truth later joined WWE.
R-Truth created a Diss track for WWE while he was in TNA
It’s hard to believe, but now 53 years old, R-Truth worked on WWE in 1999 as K-Kwik. But two years later in the promotion, he went to TNA, where he went with his real name, Ron Killings, and was called “The Truth.” That’s where the rapper put out a Diss track about WWE on YouTube, and one John Cena heard it. Soon they ran to each other at Charlotte Airport, but did not do much more than nod to each other. One of R-Truth’s friends, Konnan, is disappointed by the lack of stories from their encounter, and he adorns it and wants the truth by saying he pushed Cena. In a September 2022 interview with Premier Live TV, R-Truth added.
“I said, ‘Buddy, don’t spread it!” And it was always that we had this big beef before you knew it. (H/T 411 Mania)
John Cena confronted R-Truth in WWE
When he returned to WWE in 2008, things got a little troubling for R-Truth. At that time he was approached by John Cena. R-Truth said:
“But when I got to the locker room, all the boys were sitting there, just sitting there. Cena was in the bathroom. So when I went in, I didn’t know this. They were sitting there. I said, ‘Man, I’m on your boat,’ and he was like. [scoffs]and we applaud [hug]. The whole locker room went, “Ah, man! s**t! ‘”
John Cena was able to see that Distrack wasn’t a big deal because he was the rapper himself. Still, don’t look for him to be so generous in the main event on Saturday night.
