Goldberg is approaching his much-anticipated WWE return, and the Hall of Fame gave fans a promising update on his health before his retirement match.
After months of speculation and internal talks within WWE, the 58-year-old wrestling icon is serious about going out on his own terms. And Gunther may be the one standing across from him when it happens.
During a recent episode of caste Podcast Goldberg broke the silence with a short but hopeful status report. “I felt a little better, I got a guy with a little weight. I did a little kickboxing over the weekend. I’ll arrive there. I’ll be there a bit of left.
Goldberg also revealed that he is currently uninjured. “It was really hard to trust me and take control of myself, but I think I’m on a good schedule. I’ve never been hurt so far.”
As for his shoulders, for one of the key areas he is on the sidelines, Goldberg compared his rehabilitation to the recovery of a classic car. “More than that. I mean, hey, I can do things with it – I couldn’t do anything with it in December. That’s one of them – it’s like rebuilding a car. You need to minimize it and build it in a logical way in order. Work.”
With Goldberg previously confirmed that his retirement match will take place in 2025 over the summer, WWE’s booking decision over the coming months is suddenly under the microscope. It is speculated that Gunther’s upcoming match with Jey Uso on the June 9 episode of Raw could lay the foundation for the final showdown between General Ring and Goldberg.
If Goldberg’s latest comments are any indication, he doesn’t just physically prepare. He is determined to finish his career on his own terms and it is possible that WWE is ultimately giving it the platform.
