both WWE And all elite wrestling does some strong work in terms of the tag team division. Champions like Street Profits, The New Day and The Hurt Syndicate are big choices for many fans, and all teams aiming for these titles have helped make each division look better.
It seems like a great idea to look at every team in each company in detail and pick out some of what they are doing at the moment. From recent heel deployments to promotions to big returns to promotions, we’ll show you the best in both AEW and WWE.
AEW: Young Bucks
Undefeated since returning to AEW
- Captured the title of the IWGP tag team in New Japan.
- He made a major comeback to AEW in 2025.
- I haven’t been beaten since I returned.
The Young Bucks left AEW after losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship last October and did not return until April this year. While they were gone, they went to New Japan Pro Wrestling and won their second IWGP Tag Team Championship, but their reign is shortened by Titsuya Knight and Hino Hiromu hiromu hiromu aper.
Since returning to AEW, they have featured several victories under names like Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Mark Briscoe and Swerve Strickland. They are also working with Kazuchika Okada again, working with Ricochet to face off against the face of AEW.
WWE: New Day
Wins the 10th Tag Team Title
- Shockingly heels were turned and kicked a big E from the group.
- Their running started to get a little boring.
- He later won the World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania.
As Kofi and Xavier were constantly going to and criticizing each other, WWE began planting seeds for the new day. Last December, when it seemed to be officially happening, they instead turned their heels for his injury and kicked out a big E from the group.
They turned to winning the 10th Tag Team Championship together, but after a while the fans weren’t very interested in it and things got old. But when they managed to get the mission well by defeating the War Raiders at WrestleMania, they picked up a bit, but they haven’t done much since.
AEW: Learning Tree
Great without Chris Jericho
- I recently won the Battle of Chicago Street.
- He was the biggest candidate for the title of the AEW World Tag Team.
- He won several victories in the AEW tag team scene.
The Brian Keith and Big Bill duo are incredibly impressive, evidenced by the series of victories they featured on AEW TV. They won a title match against The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, and fans enjoyed the match relatively. The only problem the team has had since they first started is their partnership with Chris Jericho.
The learning tree is constantly seen on television, but most were standing behind Jericho when the promotion was cut after the promotion. Jericho recently left the TV a little bit to help Keith and Bill stand out a little more.
WWE: DIY
Helped to strengthen the SmackDown tag team scene
- I started the year with the WWE Tag Team title.
- There were some great matches with Street profits and MCMG.
- I made things fresh and turned my heels.
As shown, WWE’s tag team division is being murdered on the Smackdown side of things. One of the reasons was DIY work. The feud between them and MCMG was great, with two matches of three Falls matches making a strong show at the Royal Rumble, but that didn’t compare to the work that was placed in Smack Down’s TLC three-way match after Wrestle Mania.
Since turning the heels, Gargano and Cyanpa have been far more interesting than their work as babyfaces. Like Sabin and Shelley, DIY has always hovered the WWE tag team championships, and fans love what they’re doing recently.
AE:FRT
Much needed heel turns helped them
- He formed a strong trio with Adam Copeland.
- They are constantly winning in conflicts.
- After the running of my face got a little old, I turned my heels.
The FTR was caught up in a series of big losses at the end of 2024, and tried to recover by rebutting the Death Rider at the beginning of 2025, but now alongside the FTR alongside Adam Copeland. The factions seemed cool at first, and some fans were hoping that they might take the title of the world trio from Death Rider, but that didn’t happen.
Instead, Harwood and Wheeler get tired of Copeland and attack him viciously, stretching him out of the arena and amortizing him from the TV. Since turning the heels, they have rebutted the combination of Paragon Daniel Garcia and the returning Nigel McGuinness, reaching culmination in a double or nothing tag match.
WWE: Motor City Machine Gun
Still riding high since his large debut
- The WWE Tag Team Championship was held at the end of last year.
- We had great matches against Street Profits, DIY, Los Garza and more.
- It always surrounds the title of the WWE Tag Team.
WWE debuts Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were here for months and despite capturing the WWE tag team championship, they still felt eye-opening and unrealistic. It makes sense for highly regarded teams like Motor City Machine Gun to play great games, and that’s exactly what they did.
The feud with DIY was fantastic and ultimately led to a TLC match between these two teams and the street profits.
AEW: The Don Charis family
Specifically, Takeshita and Fletcher
- The Don Charis family is always featured on AEW TV.
- Konosuke Takechita and Kyle Fletcher have been successful singles wrestlers.
- Takechita and Joshu Alexander also became the dominant tag team.
The Doncalis family does it compared to the learning tree, where fans were always tired of appearing on TV, but fans love the works of Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher and Joshu Alexander. So this is like 2-1, something like 1-1, as Kawanaka and Fletcher, or Alexander pairs get multiple tag team wins and play great matches.
Together, Fletcher and Takeshita took some impressive matches against Will Osprey, Kenny Omega and the Hounds of Hell. Takeshita and Alexander are a little newer as Alexander has just joined the Aew roster, but they’re already picking up victory with the dark orders, Brody King, Will Osprey and Conglomerics.
WWE: Street Benefits
The best tag team division has been further cemented.
- Winner of the DIY WWE Tag Team Championship.
- We rejuvenated the character in 2025.
- He won a 3-way TLC match rated by Smackdown.
Raw looks good over there now on new days, so there needs to be some improvements to the tag team scene. In comparison, SmackDown has a bit more of the aforementioned team, street profits and a bit more. Montes Ford and Angelo Dawkins seemed destined to say goodbye this year, but instead they fixed whatever was missing and gave their run into a second life.
They won the WWE Tag Team Championship and came out as winners in an insane TLC match at Smackdown, featuring some of Smackdown’s best teams in the moment. They are also helping us build a new debut team that we are planning to go to real soon.
AEW: Scar Syndicate
They hurt people
- It controls the AEW Tag Team Division.
- He won the AEW World Tag Team Championship with Dynamite at the beginning of the year.
- He quickly gained four straight title defenses and counts.
Bobby Rushley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin joined AEW and quickly reformed Hurt Business Faction, now known as The Hurt Syndicate. They have only had a few matches together since coming to AEW, but they have not yet lost to anyone. In their third match, they defeated a private party and won the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Since winning the title, they have beaten cancer, outrunners, learning trees, gates of suffering and top flights. Fans love the group, their theme songs, and the attitude they’ve been making on TV with MJF recently.
WWE: fraxiom
They’re fine on the main roster
- The NXT Tag Team Division was run.
- Many fans (and management) consider them to be the best tag team in the world.
- He made a massive debut with Smackdown and joined the main roster.
Easy WWE or AEW’s best tag teams are Nathan Frazer and Axiom’s Fraxiom teams. Since 2025, they ruled as NXT Tag Team Champions, a title they still held for 230 days, but eventually dropped their belts on Hank and Tank.
After that loss, they move to the main roster and shed tears. They began taking the victory at SmackDown by beating the WWE tag team champions and former Champions Street Profests and DIY respectively, then defeating the rather fatal ones with Los Garza. Fans love these two as a team, and even WWE administrators like Shawn Michaels say they are the best tag teams right now.
