Last Tuesday’s episode of “WWE NXT” was the Battlegrounds Go Home Show on the upcoming Sunday, with cards piling up at a premium live event, bringing out the best numbers from Stiff Sports Competition since March.
According to Wrestlenomics, “NXT” averaged 697,000 viewers and recorded a 0.13 in the key 18-49 demographic. Comparing both categories to the previous week, the total audience rose 5% from 664,000 viewers, while the 18-49 demo fell 13% from 0.15. Although growth is small, “NXT” viewers have grown by 4% since May 2024, but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the important demographics. Development brands will decrease by 30% in category.
The “NXT” figures at the 18-49 demo are disappointing compared to last year, but were able to attract around 700,000 viewers after a direct confrontation in both the NHL and NBA playoff action. The Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game on ESPN led the night with Cable, pulling out 4,989,000 viewers, averaging 1.64 on the 18-49 demo. The Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes game on TNT also worked well, accumulating 0.40 with 1,296,0002 viewers.
Going forward, the biggest concern for “NXT” is attracting viewers with the 18-49 demo, with the category down 25% compared to the first quarter of this year. However, we hope that “NXT” will see an increase in demonstrations going forward, as the NHL and NBA playoffs are set to close next month.
