WWE
An update occurred when the WWE Smackdown runtime was back to a previous runtime of 2 hours.
Starting with the first episode of 2025 on Friday, January 3rd, SmackDown was a three-hour program on the US network.
Smackdown’s three-hour runtime split fans’ opinions over the past five months, but Triple H confirmed in January that the changes were temporary and the show would return to two hours in the future.
The exact date of SmackDown has never been confirmed by WWE to return to 2 hours, but the June 6, 2025 episode of SmackDown reported that the two-hour runtime could potentially return.
However, this may not be the case after all, as the US network is reportedly listed internally in early June for a three-hour episode, according to a new update from Pwinsider Elite (via Wrestlingnews.co).
As stated in the report, the original plans were about changes to be made in early summer, but it is not currently true whether this is the case following this latest update.
As Smackdown runtime changes become available, more information will be provided.
