Drew McIntyre will enter a steel cage match with Damien’s priest in the main event this Saturday night, with a sub-100% WWE main event. The 39-year-old former WWE champion continues his fierce rivalry with the “notorious archer” following his encounter on WrestleMania 41.
McIntyre defeated the priest at the Battle of Sin City Street, but he is still recovering from the priest’s brutal post-match attack in the backlash. There, the challenger choked McIntyre’s head onto the table. This effect left McIntyre with a prolonged neck problem that lasted ten days later.
“I can’t turn my head to the left yet,” McIntyre told the Orlando Sentinel. “To work is something that happens when you’re an athlete, especially as the years go by.”
Despite participating in the dangerous steel cage match with limited mobility, Scottish warriors acknowledge how wrestler safety protocols have evolved over time.
“If you get injured, it’s something to look after,” explained McIntyre. “Maybe we would have recorded it and used it back then. In the past, I worked with muscle tears and rest.
WWE Saturday Night’s main event will air live from Tampa and Peacock, Florida, at 8pm this Saturday. ???????????????????????
