Persistence is rewarded. Ask Dominique Mysterio.
In an obvious interview with Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Story” podcast, the WWE superstar revealed about his teenage romance with his high school lover Marie, who became his wife after a 14-year relationship that began with repeated rejections.
“I asked her to be three different girlfriends, and she said it all three times, and the fourth time was charming,” Mysterio said. “I was a very tenacious Cuz. I mean, she’s tall, beautiful, green eyes, long brown hair. That’s why I got caught up.
The romance began with the eighth graders, Dominique, the first language of Spanish, intentionally registered in Spanish 1 to get closer to Marie.
“I was worried and put on a Spanish class. [I spoke Spanish]He admitted.
His show-off tactics backfired first. When the teacher asked who could count in Spanish to ten, Dominique counted to fifty, and gained a reputation as “sakky” in Marie’s eyes.
However, permanence became Dominique’s greatest life lesson.
“I would be lost without her,” he recalled. “Even when we got married, I absolutely didn’t do anything for the wedding. She told me what day and time I would show up. That’s exactly what I did.”
Their secret? “We have the same values and morals,” Dominique explained.
“The same thing is important at home.”
The couple has now been married for over a year and proves that the best of their lives is worth the wait.
