Former TNA President Scott D’Amore has officially confirmed that TNA Wrestling signed CM Punk in 2023 after resigning from all elite wrestling. This ultimately brought the earthquake back to WWE with that year’s Survivor Series amid widespread speculation that Punk might appear in the glory events of TNA in Chicago.

Punk also reportedly saw him attending several TNA tapings during his free agency period. In his “D’Amore Drop” sport on Yahoo!, “No Crown Crown,” Damore praised Punk’s actions through their debate, reflecting negotiations with controversial stars.

“It was no groomed secret that I tried to sign Phil to TNA after the AEW collapsed,” D’Amore said. He admitted the challenge, saying, “I knew it was a long shot. I knew he was asking him to work in a smaller arena than he had for a long time.”

Despite the odds, Damore appreciated the punk approach. “He listened. He was interested. He never did TNA, never once. In the end, Punk chose a different path, but he respected it.
