In 2022, WWE released the Mandy Rose after being well received as the NXT women’s champion. For this reason, Rose – real name Amanda Sakukomanno – has a sense of someone and relatives who experience the same thing. On an episode of her “Power Alphas” podcast on YouTube, she responded to the news of a recent WWE release and gave advice to her previous talent.
Sakumanno pointed out that some of the stars released were her friends. She later addressed rumors that some of the WWE releases were due to lazy talent and that they were fired on behalf of a friend. “The couple girls, Cola and Gigi, actually commented on it on Twitter. I like what they talked about because I think it’s BS,” she said. “I think it’s so stupid because we were there, because we know how it works like a release.
Sacconno added that there is no lazy time at the performance centre as people are constantly training for a week. “You’re at work. Some of these girls have been there for a few years at this point,” she pointed out. “You’re reorganizing everything, like Sunday, a day off, and all of that, as you please, and you’re hustling! But when the reason for Brown Strowman’s release is questioned, Sakucomanno said it could be true.
“When Vince was in charge, Vince maintained a lot of talent.”
Sakukomanno also weighed in how TKO is doing business and dealing with WWE talent compared to Vince McMahon. “Right now, like the way TKO and the way they hire people, and maybe they’re paying those people a little more money, but they have to cut to others,” she explained. Additionally, Sacconno suggested that some wrestlers overestimate their hands during contract negotiations, finding the difficult way for TKO and McMahon to do business differently.
“Do you know the best part? If you’re listening there and you might be on this boat or you might still be in WWE – I’ve got the blueprint,” she said. “It’s when that call comes because we all know it’s coming. I know who to call because I’m not just surviving, but thriving,” Sakumanno further explained that he’s willing to support talent who has released talent to return to wrestling, expand his career, and bring his talent to other careers.
In addition to this, she admitted that working for WWE can be a blessing, but reminded women that they are fair to the names they make for themselves. “So just come out and don’t take all the offers that come in your path,” she said. “There are many opportunities. Trust me when I tell you. You’ll be fine. They want you to believe you can’t survive without them.”
