Jey Uso overcame Logan Paul to maintain his World Heavyweight Championship to close the WWE Saturday Night main event from John Cena and Returning Cody Rhodes.
The match itself saw Lies being sent out and crashing in Paul’s plancha before they began with an open palm strike to Paul. USO quickly returned to the top and landed a hip attack on the horn before attempting a USO splash. Paul lifted his knees and lied for a nearby fall. Paul caught USO on the right side for a nearby fall, but USO eventually fought back to hit a USO splash and make a cover.
Following his own match with R-Truth, Cena, who had said he was watching the match closely, showed up to pull the referee out of the ring as he counted. He then entered the ring and began to break through the lies. Paul watched with equal shock before Rhodes’ music hit and running down the entrance ramp. Rhodes took out Cena and allowed the lie to connect to the pole of the ring with a spear and another splash of lie, earning a winning pinfall and title retention.
After the match, Rhodes grabbed the microphone and challenged Cena and Paul to a bank’s Money in the Bank at the Bank tag team match, and was taller as the show aired.
