Following the women’s revolution in 2015, despite not being treated like a fierce in-ring competitor like WWE’s women, the divas of the early 2000s were charming women who often acted in scandish storylines and competed in infamous bra and panties matches. One of these women was Dawn Marie. His real name is Dawn Marie Pasis. Brunette Marie Platis is the beauty of a brunette who started with ECW in 1998 with Lance Storm.
When ECW entered the underside, Dawnmarie managed ECW’s talented fellow ECW talent Simon Diamond on an independent circuit. That’s where she began training as a competitor in the ring. In April 2002, she agreed to a deal with WWF at the time. She made her debut the following month as a legal assistant to Vince McMahon. WWE is where Dawn Marie had the most memorable feud as she captivated Wilson’s father, Alabama, and married her to threaten Tory. Their feud culminated in a “stepmother vs. stepdaughter” match at the Royal Rumble in 2003, when Wilson defeated her “evil stepmother.”
Throughout her time at WWE, she played in a variety of popular matches at the time, including catfights and bra and panties matches. Dawn Marie never won the title during her time at WWE, when women’s championships were still in use prior to the introduction of the Divas Butterfly Belt Championship.
Dawn Marie left WWE in July 2005. She was released from her contract during maternity leave and sued the company. She reportedly was told that her work was safe while out after the birth of her son. In November 2007, the UK’s Powerslam Magazine revealed that Dawn Marie and WWE had resolved the lawsuit outside of court, but no details have been made available.

Dawn Marie, who appeared to have fixed things in WWE after McMahon’s departure, recently appeared at the company in 2024. It has been revealed by General Manager Ava that the original diva will be returning in the “WWE NXT” Halloween chaos. The following month, Dawn Marie served as a special guest umpire for Hardcore Match when the developmental brand aired from the iconic 2300 Arena, the former home of ECW. Appearance was her first in WWE since her departure in 2005 and later lawsuits.
When she first left WWE, she worked on an independent scene following the birth of her first child. In 2008, she made her debut for a female superstar, uncensored debut, managed by former Sunny, then went under the real name of Tammy Lincich. She signed with Dragon Gate USA in July 2009 and served as a “live event hostess” as well as the role of a ring announcer. She also worked as Barrett for promotions for Kevin Murphy and Richie Nightmare. Her final wrestling match took place in 2008 when she and Trixie Lynn fought an uncensored contest of female superstars.
She also fought to achieve another dream in her professional wrestling life and is now working as a nurse in her hometown of New Jersey. Dawn Marie worked throughout the coronavirus pandemic and caught the illness in August 2021 after more than a year on the frontline.
In addition to her nursing career, she has been active in signatures and practices, and has recently appeared at Wrestlecon ahead of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. She runs a Facebook page, and fans can still follow her adventures and see videos and photos of her time at Sin City.
