Willow Nightingale may have signed a new deal with AEW, but it didn’t stop WWE from paying close attention behind the scenes.
According to PwinsiderWWE’s interest was very realistic until it came to re-signing Nightingale. No official outreach has been reported, but the outlet pointed out “If she went to the free market, she would have absolutely been interested in WWE.” That alone was enough to raise eyebrows, especially given Willow’s inventory at AEW and her growing fanbase.
Nightingale has become one of the most talked about stars in women’s wrestling, winning big matches with AEW and NJPW. She is planning to participate in Anarchy in Arena matches with Double or Note 2025concluded the powerful run that could have made her a serious free agent target if she had waited a little longer.
Instead, she was trapped in the future. Sports illustration included: “That’s true, yes. I’m happy where I am. I think there’s a lot to do with AEW that I want to achieve.”
She also takes pride in supporting AEW’s growth from the early days. “It’s just a privilege and joy to be part of it, to bear the water and to see it grow.”
Willow may have shut the door in WWE, but now, their interests say everything about where she stands in the world of wrestling. AEW has just kept her out of the market just in time, but this must not be the last time the big companies make the call. For now, Willow is all elite and she just starts.
