That’s one thing WCW It was a good tag team department that wanted that for most of that run. In the early 1990s there were so many teams as WCW needed the US Tag Team Championship to handle all of them. Even through the ups and downs of the 1990s, the WCW World Tag Team Championship could still mean a lot, and was held by some incredible teams like The Steiners, Harlem Heat and more.
Sadly, like many of the WCW, the belt lost much of its sheen in the last year of the WCW. The company had a bad habit of “hot shot” belts where rulers continued within weeks and giving titles to unworthy champions. This does not include the last few months the belt was used in WWE. Here’s how each of the last 10 WCW World Tag Team Champions is ranked by the quality of their governance:

It makes sense that one of the worst stables in WCW had the shortest world title rule in the company’s history. On a somewhat infamous tour of Australia in the late 2000s, WCW had lightning taping, where Chabo Guerrero and Rushloo gained the tag belt of the naturally-born thriller.
This was WCW, a company that loves to play “Hot Potatoes” at the championships, and the rematch took place on the same show where O’Hare and Jindrack reclaimed them. The Misfits in action became the worst rule of history as they didn’t hold the title for longer than a commercial break.

They weren’t bad wrestlers, but Alex Wright and Disco Inferno are often considered WCW comedies. The pair had the strange dynamic of being rivals in television and cruiserweight championships, and they refuted “dance.” But they also created a strangely good tag team with some fun matches and angles.
During the tour of Germany, WCW preferred Wright by winning a tag title with General Rection (Hugh Morrus) instead of the injured disco recognized as the champion. Four days later, Wright and Elix Skipper lost the championship in the perfect event. It was not a prominent governance in itself, but merely a favor for Wright.

For two wrestlers who call themselves the perfect event, Sean Stasiak and Chuck Palumbo were not alive in that Monica at all. Their first WCW World Tag Team Championship reigned less than a week to drop onto the laughable team of the Boogie Knights.
They regained their belts a few days later and held them for just over two weeks. There were not many highlights in its governance. The team mostly defended the belt before losing to Kevin Nash and DDP. It wasn’t bad for WCW at the time, but it was by no means perfect.

Booker T & Test
Alliance’s Booker T&Test won the WCW Tag Team Championship

Certainly, the invasion was a troubling event. That includes many Alliance members working together despite having little reason. This included Booker T and Test, who were “floated” from WWE. Booker had left his WCW Championship feud with Lock, but while he saw a mild push in the Test, he had little in common.
Their championship won the Brother Destruction (Kane and the Undertaker). The two tried to protect them, but it was clear that they were the Hardy Boys placeholder champions. It might have been better if the reign was long, but this reign made little sense.

The final month of the invasion was more chaotic than the previous month, so the whole experiment that everyone failed is coming to an end. WWE was trying to inspire it with strange turns and hot-shotting titles. So in a random episode of Smackdown, Hardy Boyz defeated Booker T&TEST in the WCW Tag Team Championship.
It was never intended to be a long rule, as WWE had set up a unified match to effectively retire the WCW belt. They thought the Hardy Boys and Dudley Boys would offer better matches than the other options. Their rule was not worth noting, but it was fun to see Matt and Jeff Hardy adding another belt to their long resumes.

Dudley Boyz can be argued that he has more titles in history than any other team, as he has won titles in WWE, TNA, ECW, NJPW and NWA. They also celebrated the ultimate WCW tag team champion in history.
The pair won the WCW Tag Team Championship on October 23, 2001 on an episode of SmackDown. In the Survivor Series, he defeated WWE Tag Team Champion Hardy Boys, consolidating both championships and effectively abolishing the WCW title. Their rule was short, but it was historic for the Dudley Boys.

Sean O’Hale and Mark Jindrack
The naturally born thriller was a short run

In the final months of WCW’s history, the company finally started what it should have done for a long time ago – building up young people. The naturally born thriller has achieved a gentle push and some possibilities for clicks on these young stars. Sean O’Hale and Mark Jindrak won the title on the October 9, 2000 episode of WCW Thunder.
The pair held for over a month, but it felt like a very long reign for WCW that year! They had some good defenses before dropping them into the insider. It’s how reigns seem more stable than the ones before the pairs are higher on this list.

DDP & Kevin Nash has created a strong tag team

Given that they had long friendships over the years, it was only a matter of time before Diamond Dallas Page and Kevin Nash teamed up regularly. Nash worked with a naturally born thriller, but only for them to turn him on. He teamed up with DDP and worked with Jersey Triad to new teams, with insiders winning the belt at Mayhem.
They were stripped of their title by then-WCW Commissioner Mike Sanders, but won at Starcade. Surprisingly, WCW didn’t let the team run too long, even if they could have made a decent World Tag Team Champion. Still, they had some good defenses in the short term, which made them both endlessly breathless in the championship glory at WCW.

Undertaker & Kane held both the WWE and WCW tag team championships at once

Everyone knows the powerful Undertaker and Kane as partners on the tag team. Therefore, it is not a shock to run strong as a WCW World Tag Team Champion. The two crushed the naturally born thriller for the WCW title on Smackdown in early August.
Later that month they defeated DDP & Kanyon in the WWE Tag Team Championship at Summer Slam, holding both belts at once. The duo lost their belts to Booker T and Test, but their domination as champions made them better than most WCW title holders.

Chuck Palumbo & Sean O’Haire
WCW’s Final World Tag Team Champion

When the governing WCW World Tag Team champions fell, Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Hare were better teams than they were given credit. Certainly much of their rule was when the WCW entered the underneath, and before they gave real push as part of their invasion of the WWE. However, the pair did a good job defending the belt in the final months of WCW.
Palumbo & O’haire actually had a good title defense, including a matchup against Lance Storm & Mike Assaycial in the final episode of Nitro. They did well in the early weeks of the invasion before losing the belt to the Undertaker and Kane. The fact that they held the title longer than almost every other team on this list indicates that they had better governance.
