Three Things We Hate and Three Things We Loved

I wanted to like this match, I really did it.

For it’s worth it, I enjoyed it… most of it? We all knew who the match Victor and the winner of the Owen Hart Cup tournament would soon become if they qualified for the final (quarterfinals), so we weren’t exactly excited to see Monet and Heiter fight it for what led to a guaranteed match result. I have always been a strong fan of Moné’s WWE work. Many of her AEW matches are lacking for me (except for two matches against Kris Statlander for the AEW TBS Championship). I don’t think Hater is also the strongest in-ring performer on the roster – good, but not great – I was prepared for some sort of mid-way match. Because it’s worth it, I was delighted to be surprised by both of their performances! I was also impressed! I think Monet is trying when she is placed with Aew’s strong girls, Statlander, Hayter, and hopefully Kamille. And when the two women called out wrestling for 17 minutes, they were pleased that AW recognized the impact of these long women’s matches. For a moment, it felt like we had something bigger than Aew’s women’s division the night before.

Monet then won by a roll-up and scrambled out of the ring in unbelieving despair. Ah, that was it Trouble.

Roll-ups are the most deadly moves in infamous wrestling. This is not because they are more consistently consistent than any finisher in the market today (I exaggerate it, but I understand) but because they will thoroughly wipe out the fires that the match had. The match between Hayter and Moné was very good and almost fantastic, but as soon as Monet folded around Heighter and got a few cheap ones, a couple, their efforts seemed to have been shattered. I think she’s the heels. I think this probably leads to some storylines, judging from Moné’s over-the-top and honestly, the persistent drama. still! She might have won in other cheap ways. You’d have felt that you were several times more satisfied than winning a roll-up. Ah, this bothers me.

She didn’t even win on the rollup – it was a failed rollup. It’s a shame that after all the Monet of the hype, after all the effort she made with Heiter, their Owen Hart Cup final match is really on sale. But things happen in the ring – I understand that. It feels like salt in the wound. It’s not enough for Monet to win with a roll-up. She didn’t do it right and she dropped a hater on her head. A way to ruin a totally good match. What a joke.

I don’t know why Tony Kahn is afraid of playing a dominant match against women. If Monet just got the pin, would it really hurt someone? What do I say to you, it would hurt more than dropping a hater square on her head.
