Tony Khan Pledges Victory in Epic Showdown Against WWE

AEW has been battling WWE in ratings for several years, often going head-to-head in direct competition. On July 12th, the rivalry heats up again with Texas hosting a major event on Saturday night.

During the post-event media scrum at AEW Double or Nothing 2025, Khan was asked about WWE and other companies scheduling events either close to or at the same time as AEW’s shows. He likened this to the intense scheduling battles of WWE’s past but expressed confidence that the current sports entertainment giant won’t come out on top this time.

“It’s pretty consistent. I think it’s the most direct scheduling of events since the Jim Crockett promotion. So there’s a lot of scheduling clashes, and WWE went that route,” Khan commented.

This remark comes in response to WWE’s decision to hold their Saturday Night Main Event event on July 12th, the same day AEW’s All: Texas takes place at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Additionally, WWE’s NXT Battleground was scheduled directly against AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view this week.

Despite WWE’s aggressive competition, Khan remains skeptical of WWE’s strategy and confident in AEW’s ability to hold its own.

Fan Take: This ongoing battle over scheduling shows AEW’s determination to stand toe-to-toe with WWE, making it clear they’re a serious contender in the wrestling world. For AEW fans, this rivalry promises more exciting, high-stakes events that could push both promotions to new heights, benefiting the sport as a whole.
