That’s what Postrest Tourmania’s funk was like WWE After struggling for decades, in his first few years, he booked a company Triple H and handled it very well. After the WrestleMania 39 and 40, some interesting developments took place in the main event scene, allowing champions like Roman Reigns, Cody Lords and Gunther to lead the charges for the next year.
However, WWE has been different this year as they struggle to continue the momentum of the main event in the wake of the WrestleMania 41, where John Cena and Jay Uso became world champions. With Triple H’s creative hot streaks going through prominent DIP in recent months, the choice of world title holders has undoubtedly influenced promotions in a negative way.
WWE’s New World Champion is inferior
Jey Uso and John Cena are so flawed that they can’t become the top guy
- John Cena and Jay Uso are ineffective wrestlers in the ring when they are tasked with becoming top champions.
- This focused further on having to chase Gunther and Cordy Rodos as champions.
- The regular melodrama present in the main event of WWE only works if the elements in the ring are at least capable.
Triple H may think that his main event plans will remain solid within WWE. Because he essentially books the company in the same way he always has at the top level. In a chase for a world title where the pursuit of Bloodline and Cody Rhodes dominate his creative reign, The Game’ often relied on melodrama to sell big matches.
Another important element of the main event scene is the elements in the ring that (surprisingly) are (surprisingly) suitable for the baseline that neither John Cena nor Jay Uso could produce. Their shortcomings in the ring are even more pronounced in that they have to chase Gunther and Cody Rhodes, perhaps the two best wrestlers in WWE, as world champions.
As for all his mistakes, John Cena had star power to make the talent of the main event successful, at least for many years, even if his Prime coincided with WWE’s worst creative period. However, Cena’s understandable physical limitations became more apparent than ever during his record-breaking 17th world title reign.
Meanwhile, Jey Uso continues to be a performer in the ring that has strained muscles, making it even more difficult to govern his already incredible world titles. His character is one of the most characters in the company, but Jey Uso in “Main Event” actually feels far from that.
WWE main event lost excitement
John Cena’s reign is particularly disappointing.
- The rulers of both John Cena and Jay Uso’s world titles felt lighter, following WrestleMania 41.
- The proposed tag match, involving both males, Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes, focuses on this trend.
- WWE should want to get back to its best shape, moving away from the recent tone of the main event scene.
To highlight how much WWE’s main event scene has been missing since WrestleMania 41, it appears that both world champions have set up a tag team match for Money in the Bank. WWE Champion John Cena has decided to take part in world heavyweight champion Jay Uso in the main event on Saturday night.
Cody’s big return was quickly eroded by his reinvolving John Cena. It appears likely that the Logan Paul and Jayuso world title battle will continue like that.
With Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes having had a tremendous amount of chemistry before, tag team matches at Bank’s Money in the Bank may be fine at night, but Cena and Paul don’t have to match perfectly themselves. Still, neither John Cena nor Jay Uso have yet to inspire hopes of governance in the world, so it feels like WWE continues to stomp the waters in its most important regions.
Some WWE Storylines and Wrestlers work well
WWE has a powerful on-screen product from time to time
- WWE still has some exciting stories that develop outside of the main male event scene.
- The alliance between Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, Bron Blakeker and now Bronson Reid remains impressed.
- The women’s category is also healthy, and the second evolution premium live event was announced in July.
Despite WWE’s clear struggle in the main event scene, there’s still something to be excited about as a company fan. The most obvious developments that have been actively received since Wrestlemania 41 were the cooperation of Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins and further recruitment of Bron Blakeker and Bronson Reid into their ranks.
It was refreshing to see WWE create something entirely new in the relationship between Rollins and Heyman and create the higher profile given to Breakker. Reed’s recent addition to faction will only make him feel like a threat that will clearly be the most important aspect of RAW for the next few months.
WWE’s women’s division continues to look strong as champions with Iyo Sky and Tiffany Stratton, with Jade Cargill, Guilia and Roxanne Perez among others being featured as future challengers. The announcement of the second evolution event in July proves how strong the women’s division has become. This is a clear ploy to attract attention from AEW’s biggest shows.
A few months of sub-per main event action is not enough to derail Triple H’s creative regime, but it’s a concern that WWE will have to try and fix it for a long time. When the standard slips within a wrestling company, it can take years to get off mediocre, if not decades, to go out.
