Stephanie Verker is no longer NXT women’s champion.
During the Battleground PPV on Sunday, the defending champion faced Jordynne Grace. Following the event, she interacted with AAA stars Chic Tormenta and Daris La Caribéna in a behind-the-scenes segment.
The looming threat of Jacy Jayne has surfaced. The championship match between Jayne and Verker became part of NXT’s storyline after Jayne slapped the reigning champion during a confrontation this week.
In the May 27 match, Jayne had support from fellow members of the dangerous faction, Fallon Henry and Jazmine Nycks. The potential breakup of their group was hinted at when Nyx was knocked down during a tense moment between Jayne and Henley.
Stephanie Vaquer loses the NXT women’s title
Nyx intervened to save her partner, managing to distract the referee just in time for Fallon to hit Vaquer with a Feint kick. Jayne then followed up with her Discus forearm strike, ultimately capturing the surprise victory over the women’s champion.
Stephanie Vaquer is set to face Lola Vice and her team against Chic Tormenta & Dalys at the AAAXNXT Worlds Collide event on June 7th.
This unexpected title change ends Vaquer’s reign after just 78 days, prompting speculation about her future within the company.
Adding this news is significant for NXT fans as it shakes up the women’s division and creates new rivalries, enhancing the overall narrative drama. It could lead to exciting matchups and further develop character arcs in the coming events, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
