AEW Sensation Officially Announces Departure – Wrestletalk Reports

A prominent AEW wrestler has officially confirmed their departure from the company through a social media announcement. Earlier reports on March 10th suggested that Abadon was planning to leave AEW, with the organization choosing not to renew the contract.

Abadon addressed these reports by expressing eagerness to make their own announcement but remained listed as an active AEW roster member with unclear contract status. Eventually, Abadon took to Twitter to confirm they would be leaving AEW in June upon contract expiration, with the company confirming no new contract offers.

In an emotional message, Abadon shared, “My time at AEW is coming to an end. My contract expired in June and will not be renewed. The feelings I am managing are very difficult and conflicted as I reflect on my journey here. I’ve put in a lot of hard work, and though my heart is heavy, I plan to continue training. If anyone is interested in booking me, please reach out via email.”

Abadon debuted in AEW in March 2020, signing a contract later that year, and became known for a fear-inspired persona that stood out in the women’s division. Their last AEW match was in February, where they defeated Racheal Ellering on the Ring of Honor brand.

Fan Take: Abadon’s departure marks the end of an era for AEW’s women’s division, removing a unique and compelling character from the roster. This shift could open the door for fresh talent and new storylines, impacting AEW’s evolving landscape and fan engagement.
