WWE and the Big 12 Conference are elevating their collaboration by bringing Friday Night SmackDown to key Big 12 markets on the eve of significant NCAA football games. Chris Vanini revealed that WWE’s expanded partnership will feature a series of SmackDown events in 12 different cities, aligned with college football schedules.
Vanini stated, “Big 12 and WWE are expanding their partnership this fall. WWE will hold multiple Friday Night SmackDown episodes in Big 12 markets the night before football games.”
One of the initial events will take place in Ireland on August 22, 2025, just before the zero-week college football game between K-State and Iowa State on August 23. Additionally, WWE will stage a show prior to the highly anticipated UCF vs. UNC matchup on September 25 in Orlando.
Following the success of WWE’s collaboration with the Big 12 in 2023, the expansion was honored with the Big 12 Conference Championship’s Best Player Award via a Custom Championship Belt.
