Je’von Evans Set to Make His Exciting WWE SmackDown Debut

2 Min Read

NXT talent Je’von Evans made his debut on WWE’s main roster during the May 30 episode of SmackDown held in Knoxville, Tennessee. This episode aired on June 7th, just hours before the highly anticipated Money in the Bank event and more than a week ahead of the WWE, NXT, and AAA collaborative Worlds Collide show.

One of the featured matches at Worlds Collide is a four-way bout for the NXT North American Championship, involving reigning champion Ethan Page, Je’von Evans from NXT, SmackDown’s Rey Fenix, and AAA’s Laredo Kid. On the SmackDown episode, Evans teamed up with Rey Fenix in a tag team match against Los Garza’s Angels and Belt. Page also made an appearance as a guest commentator at ringside. Despite Page’s intervention, Angel secured the win by pinning Evans.

Recently, WWE has seen several main roster promotions including Fraxiom, Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer, with Jordynne Grace and Ricky Saints expected to follow soon. It remains unclear if Evans and Page’s appearances are temporary or signal full-time promotions to the main roster, but updates will be shared as they develop. Evans notably impressed fans during an NXT show in Missouri last October.

Additionally, Angel and Belt are slated to compete in a six-man tag team match at Worlds Collide alongside Legado del Fantasma leader Santos Escobar, facing AAA’s El Hijo de Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Piero.

Fan Take: Je’von Evans’ main roster debut marks an exciting new chapter for WWE, offering fresh matchups and rivalries that can invigorate the SmackDown brand. This crossover with AAA and the Worlds Collide event reflects WWE’s expanding global partnerships, which could elevate the sport’s appeal and storytelling diversity moving forward.
