WWE has made its intentions clear regarding future direct competition with AEW. After both companies air their events—Double or Nothing and NXT Battleground—simultaneously on Sunday, May 25th, they will face off again six weeks later. WWE has announced its event will take place in Atlanta on Saturday, July 12th, the same day AEW holds an event in Texas.

In 2025, WWE plans to continue holding events that coincide with AEW’s schedule, as shown by the update to WWE’s Great American Bash. According to wwe.com, the NXT Great American Bash is set to begin at 2:30 PM ET, running head-to-head with AEW’s show in Texas, which starts at 3 PM ET.

AEW has confirmed both its men’s and women’s world championship matches following the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, while the NXT Great American Bash’s card remains unconfirmed. However, notable stars such as NXT Champion Oba Femi, Women’s North American Champions Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, and TNA World Champion Trick Williams are expected to appear.

Though match cards can change, reports suggest Stephanie Vaquer could be promoted to WWE’s main roster after the WWE & AAA Worlds collision event on June 7th. This move is anticipated to reveal which brand the former NXT women’s champion will join.

Fan Take: This ongoing rivalry between WWE and AEW highlights the escalating battle for wrestling supremacy, giving fans even more excitement with simultaneous big events. For AEW enthusiasts, it means the competition remains fierce, pushing both companies to deliver top-tier entertainment that could shape the future of professional wrestling.
