Savio Vega has made his return to WWE, but fans shouldn’t expect him to step into the ring just yet.
According to Dave Meltzer’s update on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Puerto Rican wrestling legend has been brought in for behind-the-scenes roles at the Worlds Collide event.
The international event scheduled for June 7 already boasts a lineup of exciting matchups, but Vega’s involvement serves a specific purpose.
“There’s a lot to discuss about Savio Vega,” Meltzer remarked. “While I’m uncertain if he’ll make a public appearance, his role doesn’t include any interference.”
Meltzer also noted that Vega’s return isn’t meant to evoke nostalgia, at least for the time being.
“He’s not there to perform; this part is accurate,” he confirmed.
Vega’s previous appearance at WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico was a significant moment, especially when he assisted Bad Bunny in his confrontation with Damian Priest on the streets of San Juan. This upcoming role, however, focuses on his contributions behind the scenes rather than in the ring.
Additionally, Hector “Moody” Jack Melendez has joined WWE’s creative team, bringing his extensive experience to help develop the ongoing collaboration between WWE and AAA.
