Tay Melo has made her return.
The female wrestling star had been absent from AEW TV since taking maternity leave in early 2023, after welcoming her daughter, Luna Guevara, in November.
Her comeback match occurred outside of AEW earlier this year at Stardom’s New Year’s Dream event, where Melo teamed up with Mina Shirakawa to face Athena and Tekra – marking her first match in 22 months.
During tonight’s Fyter Fest Special episode of Collision, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford seemed to ambush Anna Jay backstage. However, when the camera cut back, the two were seen hugging Jay and escorting her to the stage.
As Megan Bayne began slamming Anna Jay off the stage, Tay Melo made a surprise entrance, though notably without her former tag team partner. Melo came equipped with a steel pipe and engaged in a fierce fight with Megan, which ended with security stepping in to separate them.
AEW President Tony Khan has shown interest in introducing women’s tag team championships, and the pairing of Anna Jay and Tay Melo could potentially be a top contender if those titles are announced.
