The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have made their return to the wrestling scene.
TNA announced their comeback on Friday, June 6th, during the Against All Odds pay-per-view event held at the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona. The event showcased matches like Trick Williams defending the TNA title against Elijah and Mustafa Ali facing Jason Hotch.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was the return of the tag team Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, known as Iinspiration, to TNA. The duo, who had previously competed for the Knockout Tag Team Championship, appeared as challengers to the current champions.
This marked Iinspiration’s first appearance in TNA since 2022, following their absence after WrestleMania 41 weekend last month. Originally called The IIconics on the NXT brand from October 2016, they performed under the names Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Their distinctive personas quickly won over fans.
The IIconics made their main roster debut in April 2018, with their biggest achievement being a victory over Sasha Banks and Bayley at WrestleMania 35 to claim the Women’s Tag Team Championship. They were released from their WWE contracts in April 2021.
Fan Take: The return of Iinspiration to TNA Wrestling is a thrilling development that brings excitement and proven talent back to the promotion’s women’s division. For fans, this could mean a fresh era of competitive and entertaining tag team action, potentially elevating the profile of women’s wrestling within the sport.
