Harley Cameron’s Journey Unveiled: Exclusive Updates Following Tay Melo’s Comeback at AEW Fyter Fest

2 Min Read

During this week’s exciting “AEW: Fyter Fest” event, Tay Melo made a surprise comeback to save her former tag team partner, Saeb Andjay, from further attacks by Penelope Ford and Megan Benene. This appearance followed the previous week’s intense tag team match where Jay and Harley Cameron were defeated by Bane and Ford in a no-disqualification bout.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) reported that the storyline involving Bane throwing Cameron down a steel staircase and causing a bloody nose was designed to explain her temporary absence from AEW TV. Cameron was reportedly injured several months ago and requires surgery, necessitating time off from the promotion. There is currently no update on when she will return. Additionally, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Cameron took a break following the scheduled events.

As for Tay Melo, PWI confirms she will remain a regular presence on AEW broadcasts. Her last AEW match was in January 2023 during a street fight alongside Jay against Willow Nightingale and Ruby Soho on “AEW Rampage.” Four months later, at AEW Double or Nothing, Melo and her husband Sammy Guevara revealed they were expecting a daughter, who was born in November 2023.

Melo made her in-ring return earlier this year at Stardom’s New Year’s Dream Show on January 3rd, teaming with Shilakawa in a loss to Athena and AEW’s newest signee, Thekla. Thekla also recently competed at “AEW: Fyter Fest,” where she defeated Mrs. Frost.

Fan Take: This update is crucial for AEW fans as it highlights both the challenges and resilience within the women’s division, particularly with Harley Cameron’s injury and Tay Melo’s return. Melo’s continued presence and Cameron’s eventual comeback could bring fresh storylines and intensified competition, boosting the division’s profile in AEW.
