Vince McMahon may disappear from WWE, but the conversation about his return will not go away. And now his son, Shane McMahon, is fueling the fire.

While talking to TMZ in a video released on June 7, 2025, Shane was asked directly about enduring rumors that Vince was about to buy back WWE from TKO. Instead of shutting it down, Shane left the door wide open.

When asked about the chatter surrounding Vince McMahon’s attempts to buy back rumors, Shane blurred things, but that wasn’t negative.

“Well, you still own a large part of the TKO, so you never know what will happen there. So I’m not trying to be vague. Of course, I’m saying anything can happen.”

Even the Vanguard Group holds about the same amount of stock as Vince.

Yes, McMahon still owns a fair amount of chunks, but it’s not enough to simply reclaim the company he built.

Still, Shane McMahon’s inexplicable answer is simply adding fuel to the speculation. If Vince is playing a really long game, he may be relying on the right opening to make his move.
