Nixon Newell was let go by WWE in November 2024, and since then, she has kept herself very active in India. Many fans speculate about a potential move to AEW, and it seems Newell is also considering this option.
In an interview with Baby Basil, Newell was asked about her interest in AEW and if the company had reached out to her. She mentioned that, to her knowledge, AEW hasn’t contacted her yet, but she is eager to join. Newell expressed a desire to face several AEW wrestlers, especially Toni Storm, with whom she has fought multiple times in the independent circuit, and she hopes for another match against her.
Nixon Newell emphasized her willingness to engage in conversations with AEW and is hopeful for a future opportunity. While she hasn’t received any communication from them, she remains very interested and sees it as an ideal fit for her career.
“I’m not sure. I really want to go there. There are so many wrestlers I would like to compete with, especially Toni. I’m keen to discuss potential opportunities. While I don’t think they’re currently interested in me, I’m definitely eager.”
Newell also mentioned that there are numerous wrestlers she wants to face across different promotions. Her girlfriend regularly wrestles for Ring of Honor, and Newell dreams of having a significant match there as well. Having grown up watching promotions like Ring of Honor and TNA, competing in these companies is still on her bucket list.
The former WWE star concluded by stating she has accepted offers and is looking for a chance to showcase her abilities, asserting her confidence in her skills and the need for an opportunity to prove them.
“I have many people interested in working across various companies. My girlfriend is often featured in Ring of Honor, and I genuinely want to compete there. Growing up as a wrestling fan, I’ve always admired companies like TNA and Ring of Honor. They’re still on my list, and I’m fully open to any offers. I want to show everyone what I can do.”
This follows Newell’s previous criticisms of WWE for failing to keep their promises. Nonetheless, fans believe she would be an ideal addition to AEW, leaving them eager to see if she makes the leap.
