Trick Williams is Transforming the TNA World Title Scene in a Major Way

2 Min Read

WWE NXT’s Trick Williams currently holds the TNA World Championship, and there might be a significant change coming to the title he possesses. During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Trick shared his desire to leave a lasting impression on the championship he claimed at WWE NXT Battleground 2025.

He commented, “Regarding ego, here’s a thought for you dreamers. We’re thinking about modifying this title a bit by adding my name to it. They’ll be ‘trickna’ for a long time until someone dares to snatch this title from me.”

Williams captured the championship by defeating TNA’s Joe Hendry, ending the Scottish wrestler’s reign back in January, after also besting Nic Nemeth. The championship belt underwent a redesign in January 2024 when Impact Wrestling transitioned back to the TNA Wrestling brand, and this new look was well-received by fans. In the most recent WWE NXT episode, Trick successfully defended his title for the first time against Mike Santana, with help from AJ Francis and KC Navarro.

Fan Take: This development is exciting for TNA Wrestling enthusiasts because it signals a fresh era and personalization of the championship, which could heighten its prestige. Trick Williams’ boldness and persona might inject new energy into the sport, potentially attracting more fans and creating memorable rivalries.
