AEW’s Brian Cage recently shifted from competing for the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside Lance Archer to being sidelined due to injury. Known as "The Machine," Cage tore his quad tendons while wrestling former WWE star Chris Masters at an independent event. Although his comeback timeline remains uncertain, Cage has viewed this setback as an opportunity.
On Sunday, Cage shared on Instagram that during his recovery period, he underwent surgery for a knee replacement on his right knee. The post included a video showing his surgically repaired knee taped up.
"Just four days after knee replacement surgery (and eight weeks post quad tendon repair), I’m already back at the gym," Cage stated. "Love me, hate me, or feel neutral, you can’t deny the af*****g machine! I’ve endured severe knee pain for years and was prepared to undergo surgery eventually."
He also mentioned that the video was filmed by AEW colleagues who have supported him since their indie and Lucha Underground days, showing he wasn’t working out alone. "I had Ricochet filming and setting up everything," Cage added.
Fan Take: This update is crucial for AEW fans, as it reveals Brian Cage’s determination and resilience, traits that make him a standout performer in the promotion. His swift return to training hints at a promising recovery that could see him back in action sooner than expected, adding depth and excitement to AEW’s roster and storytelling.
