Hikuleo, a former NJPW talent and respected member of the Anoaire Wrestling family, had his final match with Japan’s promotion on June 9, 2024. In the months before this last match, other NJPW alumni and real-life brothers of wrestlers Tama Tonga and Tanga Roa signed with WWE and became part of the Solo Sicoa lineage.
After just a month, it wasn’t unexpected when Fightful Select reported that Hikuleo officially joined the Endeavor-owned promotion. However, the son of WWE veteran Haku hasn’t appeared on WWE programming or provided any solid updates about his status for the past year. It’s likely WWE initially planned to integrate him into the Bloodline storyline, but those plans shifted before the 34-year-old could debut.
Rumors that he joined NXT late last year also went nowhere. The fact that he hasn’t appeared outside of WWE suggests he’s survived recent budget cuts that saw the release of names like Carlito and Shotzi. Surprisingly, despite being a multi-time NJPW champion, WWE’s creative team has not found a storyline for Hikuleo, a former Bullet Club member.
Both Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa are currently off TV due to injuries, and fans remain hopeful that once his brothers return to television, Hikuleo will finally make his WWE debut.
