MJF Triumphs in AEW Dynamite 4-Way, Secures Spot in Men’s Texas Casino Gauntlet

Former AEW World Champion MJF is set for a big moment in Texas. On the milestone 300th episode of “AEW Dynamite,” MJF triumphed over Brody King, AR Fox, and Anthony Bowens, securing the #2 spot in the men’s casino gauntlet match at the Globe Life Field Super Show. MJF clinched his win with a modified Fujiwara armbar, known as the FOXX, and will face off against former ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe, who warned MJF that they’ll have some “Talky-Talk” on the next “Dynamite.” Briscoe also challenged MJF to leave the Heart Syndicate behind for an upcoming promotional showdown.

This win is significant for MJF, marking a milestone since he participated in the very first casino battle royale at AEW’s 2019 “All Out” event. The casino gauntlet, a different format from the battle royale, also has a female counterpart. Winners from both the men’s and women’s gauntlets earn the chance to challenge for world titles. Notably, Chris Statlander is the only female participant in the women’s casino matches to date. This event is also the first time MJF won’t be competing in a title match at AEW’s big event; in 2023, he headlined AEW Dynamite as the AEW World Champion, and last year, he appeared as AEW International Champion before losing the title to Will Ospreay.

Fan Take: This news is huge for AEW fans because it shows MJF is still a major player with plenty of storylines heading into All In: Texas. His upcoming clash with Mark Briscoe could ignite fresh rivalries and keep the excitement high, proving AEW’s commitment to dynamic and unpredictable wrestling.
