Anthem Sports Group President Unveils Ambitious Vision for TNA Wrestling’s Year-Round Presence

TNA Wrestling is focused on securing new media rights agreements that promote broadcasters airing their flagship shows on a weekly basis. Carlos Silva, president of Anthem Sports Group, highlighted that the promotional boost from a recent partnership with WWE has opened up significant growth opportunities.

In an interview with Johnwallstreet.com, Silva explained how the new deal transforms TNA’s production approach, allowing for live programming throughout the entire year. He estimates that on a broader platform, viewership could realistically reach between 250,000 and 500,000 households, compared to the usual live audience of around 100,000 households.

Silva also shared financial ambitions, aiming for annual revenues around $100 million. Discussions are continuing with various potential partners, including established linear networks and emerging platforms in need of flagship programming.

Following TNA’s exposure during WWE programming and the participation of TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace at NXT’s Royal Rumble, Silva praised the collaborative benefits. TNA has been regularly featured across WWE and NXT platforms, as well as outlets like The CW and Peacock. This exposure, along with strong social media backing, has significantly boosted their audience.

This approach aligns with reports from Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, who revealed WWE’s support for TNA after discontinuing their own similar version, and highlighted industry speculation that WWE might eventually acquire TNA Wrestling.

TNA’s upcoming major event is the Slami Versary, set for July 20th at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. As of early July, 3,510 tickets had been sold. The main event features TNA World Champion Moose defending his title against Joshu Alexander, alongside a TNA X-Division Championship bout between Mustafaari and challenger Ace Austin.

Fan Take: This news is exciting for TNA Wrestling fans because the prospect of consistent live weekly programming and higher visibility through alliances with WWE could elevate TNA’s profile significantly. It signals a bright future for the sport, with potential for larger audiences and greater financial backing that could enhance the quality and reach of pro wrestling entertainment.
