Megan Bayne clinched the second spot in the Texas Women’s Casino Gauntlet match by pinning Queen Aminata in a four-way showdown during the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. The match also featured competitors Thekla and Tay Melo. Earlier on June 25th, Kris Statlander secured the number one position by winning a four-way against Willow Nightingale, Thunder Rosa, and Roh Women’s World Champion Athena.

The bout kicked off with Thekla taking an aggressive approach, hitting crossbodies on Bayne and Melo outside the ring. Aminata followed suit by targeting Thekla, known as the “toxic spider.” Thekla and Aminata battled inside the ring but were unable to secure a pin as Bayne and Melo re-engaged. In the final moments, Thekla attempted a powerbomb on Aminata but Bayne ultimately took control, successfully pinning Aminata for the win.

Post-match, Thekla was set for an interview with Renee Puckett, where she reflected on her performance despite the loss. The segment took an unexpected turn when Aminata attacked Thekla, abruptly ending the interview.

Fan Take: This victory underscores Megan Bayne’s rising prominence in AEW’s women’s division, signaling exciting new rivalries ahead. It also adds depth to the upcoming Casino Gauntlet, promising dynamic matches that will keep fans engaged and elevate the women’s sport in AEW.
