Last Friday on "SmackDown," wrestling legend Trish Stratus made a much-anticipated return. The Hall of Famer, who has been a major figure in wrestling for 25 years, is set to face current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at the upcoming Women’s Evolution 2 Premium Live Event (PLE).
Despite Stratus’s iconic status, many critics feel she isn’t receiving the proper promotional buildup for her match against Stratton. Tommy Dreamer voiced his frustration on the "Bust Open Radio" podcast, emphasizing the weak promotional efforts leading into the event.
He said, "She feels she needs a bigger buildup. That’s it. I’m very upset about it. It should attract similar attention like Goldberg and Gunther."
One criticism aimed at Tiffany Stratton is that although she plays a heroic character, her promotional style sometimes comes off as antagonistic. Dreamer noted that Stratton’s tone sounds harsh and could benefit from being more uplifting.
He suggested a straightforward promo Stratton could deliver to Stratus: "I was honored to be in the ring with you when we tagged together, and if you agree to face me at Evolution 2, I need to beat the best."
Dreamer believes this type of promo would endear Stratton to fans and also give Stratus the respect she deserves, setting the stage properly for their encounter.
Evolution 2 is scheduled for Sunday, July 13th, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
